Ask me anything   A collection of the great recipes I find on Pinterest, plus some of my own. :)

Burt’s Beef Stew
So excited to finally share this recipe with…all 2 of my followers. :P
Anyway, this isn’t a Pinterest find, but it’s one of my favorite recipes and meals ever. It comes from Dom Deluise’s awesome cookbook Eat This…It’ll Make You Feel Better!, which my mom has had for years.

See? Nice and splotchy from years of use.
This stew recipe was given to Dom by Burt Reynolds and is very similar to beef bourguignon but with more of a tomato base. The red wine really adds a lot to it, too. Of all the beef bourguignon recipes I’ve made, this one’s my favorite.
Full recipe, in case it’s hard to read in the photo
It can be a bit labor-intensive but is well worth it. I like to do all of the chopping, etc. first so all that’s left is to braise the meat, put it together and let it cook on the stove.

You also get to braise beef in bacon fat. Life is good.

I love my Food Network cast-iron dutch oven, which is perfect for braising.

It cooks for about 2 hours on the stove, and you’re left with a pot of hearty wonderfulness. Serve with warm, crusty bread and a glass of wine. Hope you love it as much as I do!
